When Does Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Take Place?
To begin with, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor does indeed take place five years after Jedi: Fallen Order. This means we’ll be playing as a more matured Cal Kestis who has already been fighting the Empire for half a decade.
Along the way, we’ll be witnessing firsthand the difference in skill between him five years ago, and him now that’s no longer a Padawan but instead a full-fledged Jedi.
When it comes to the overall Star Wars timeline, Jedi: Survivor takes place in the year 9 BBY (before the Battle of Bavin), which means nine years before Episode IV: A New Hope takes place.
So don’t go into this game expecting to fight alongside a seasoned Luke Skywalker or Princess Leia. However, you can expect there to be a lot of the Empire’s people as around this time the Empire has complete control over the galaxy.
Interestingly, this also means the game takes place almost exactly the same time as the Disney+ show Kenobi. Therefore, there’s a pretty high chance Cal might run into characters from that show, and maybe fight alongside the legendary General Kenobi himself.
What we wouldn’t give to hear him say “Hello there” one more time.
Another thing to note is that both Kenobi and Jedi: Survivor have inquisitors chasing the main protagonist, so this might make for some interesting dialogue in Jedi: Survivor referencing the ongoing Obi-Wan Kenobi chase.
