Hands-On With Gamescom Games

Outcast 2- A New Beginning

From our man on the ground, Talal,

“Graphically it’s pretty enough color-wise, but scratch the surface and it doesn’t look current gen. The dubbing is off, and the look and feel are very PS4 Pro. Combat, which saw our hero take on a huge ‘earthworm’ to protect a nearby village felt very familiar – dodging enemy attacks that were quickly easy to telegraph. Shooting felt responsive but uninspired.

Now, this is just a preview and is not reflective of the final game, but it was enough to stress test some of the core mechanics.”

Wreckreation

Once again from our man Tal:

“Really disappointed here. Racing feels very undeveloped – I didn’t have to touch the brakes once. Felt very shallow compared to Forza Horizon and games of that ilk. The course creator stuff once mastered could be a lot of fun, but it doesn’t take away from a real lack of feel behind the wheel.”
