Blizzard have put live a new Overwatch 2 beta page this morning ahead of the start of the beta today, you can check it out here.
Blizzard has announced that the Overwatch 2 Beta servers will be going live tomorrow, April 26th, 2022. The first wave of invites is set to go out day-and-date with the Beta, so if you’ve signed up, you should keep your eyes closely glued to your inbox if you want to take part. Don’t panic too much if you don’t receive your invite straight away, as there will likely be further waves coming down the line.
Overwatch community manager Andy Belford announced the news on Twitch streamer Flats’ channel. During the stream, he stated that Blizzard would be sending out invites as soon as the Beta servers go live but that even the first wave of invites won’t all go out at once. We can also expect to see a new FAQ article going live at some point this week, according to the Twitch clip, which you can check out below.
When does the Overwatch 2 Beta Start?
We know that the Overwatch 2 Beta will start on April 26th, though it’s not immediately clear at what time emails will begin to be sent to people. We also know, thanks once again to Andy Belford, that the beta will be going on for quite some time. If you’ve been hoping to get some decent quality time with one of the most anticipated games of all time, this will certainly be the week for you.
Is The Overwatch 2 Beta On Console?
One of the biggest questions that non-PC gamers might have is whether or not the beta will be coming to consoles as well. Unfortunately, at this time, it seems like the beta is only going to be available to folks who have a decent gaming PC waiting for them at home. It’s not all doom and gloom, though. Blizzard has made it pretty clear that they have plans for including console players in some of the future beta events.
Who Will Get Overwatch 2 Beta Invites
If you’ve signed up for the Overwatch 2 Beta already, you’re probably wondering if Blizzard will invite you to take part. Currently, it’s not clear exactly who will get Overwatch 2 Beta invites since Blizzard has kept the selection process pretty secretive. There’s a possibility that it’ll be first come, first served, but don’t let that stop you from signing up. Blizzard has said that they’ll be adjusting the number of folks taking part to suit their needs, so you might get lucky.
