Overwatch 2 has kept the game exciting since its release between events and other fun updates along the way with their new battle pass. Not only was the game’s first event the Halloween one but now players can get hyped for their first summer event since the game’s launch.

It is time to welcome in summer, a time when adults are looking forward to many long weekends to spend however they wish, and children are off from school for many weeks, which means it is the perfect time for an overwatch update.

Below is a list of all the recent patch notes from Overwatch 2 from July 11, 2023. Here is where you can read the previous patch notes as well.

Summer comes to Overwatch 2 in patch notes update

There are many new features available in this new update, including a new Winston’s Beach Volleyball, which is a new mode for the Summer Games. Players will be in an area filled with sand in a 3v3 match that is summery all around, and it is up to both teams to try and push the ball to the opponent’s side of the court to win. This new mode was just introduced in this update, and players can jump into it now.

To continue on with the summery and sports theme, Lúcioball has returned to Overwatch. Two teams that will contest only Lúcio’s will go up against another team of players, and they will need to race around the field to score a goal, which isn’t as easy as you think, considering the ball is massive and very bouncy.

That isn’t all of what gamers can expect from this event, but the developers are bringing more rewards for players to be able to collect as the Summer Games event goes on. There will be many challenges for players to participate in to get new sprays, player icons, victory poses, and epic skins for Doomfist this go around. Mercy will also be getting a new Lifeguard themed skin, and players can earn a Lúcioball Weapon Charm and can earn up to 50,000 Battle Pass XP.

The Overwatch 2 Summer Games Event will begin on July 24, and anyone who blogs during this event will get a cool Summer Games 2023 player icon. The full patch notes can be read here.
