The next video game taking place in the world of the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has arrived. The reveal trailer for TMNT: The Last Ronin was shown during the THQ Nordic Showcase taking place on August 11, 2023, for the world to see.

TMNT: The Last Ronin, based on the comic, follows the story of a post-apocalyptic New York City as a lone turtle seeks out revenge for the family he lost. This is the official video game adaptation of TMNT: The Last Ronin.

TMNT: The Last Ronin video game adaptation is coming

The trailer for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game revealed the Last Ronin, the last surviving turtle who is seeking revenge for his lost family in a post-apocalyptic New York City. Who is the Last Ronin? What happened to his family, and what happened to New York?

The trailer didn’t show off any gameplay but did show off a visual spectacle of candles being blown out while rhythmic drums played. We saw a shot of the Last Ronin himself, facing the enemies you’ll be able to fight in-game. This doesn’t give much details on what gameplay fans can expect, but does give the general vibe of the game.

The game is based on the TMNT comic by Eastman, Waltz, Bishop, Delgado, and the Escorza Bros, also titled TMNT: The Last Ronin, which was released in 2020 to great popularity. The video game adaptation will follow the footsteps of the comic but allow players to take control of the Last Ronin and live out his story themselves. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
