As we continue to advance in technology, the line between human-like interaction and artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly blurred.

In the latest development, Google has announced its conversational AI assistant, Google Bard, will soon be integrated with Gmail.

This integration will allow users to easily write emails within the app for different purposes, something that current language models like ChatGPT are not yet able to do. This integration is set to significantly increase productivity for users.

Bard’s ability to generate content and export it to Gmail and Google Docs will make it easier for users to utilize the AI assistant’s capabilities.

In the keynote presentation of Google Bard, CEO Sundar Pichai explained that the company intends to integrate Bard with Google Workspace, including Gmail, in order to assist users in replying to emails more easily.

With this integration, users will be able to respond to emails based on previous conversations, write emails from scratch and much more.

Google ‘Help Me Write’ feature in Gmail

During the Google keynote presentation, Google demonstrated the use of Bard’s Help Me Write feature in Gmail.

The example presented was of an email from an airline regarding a canceled flight and a voucher offered as compensation.

The presenter then used Help Me Write to create a draft email asking for a full refund, which was completed with the help of the AI-generated text.

The demo showed that the AI was able to pull in relevant details from the previous email and created a draft that was similar to what the presenter wanted to send.

It was mentioned that like Smart Compose, Help Me Write will improve over time, making it easier for users to write their emails with the help of AI-generated text.

When will this be available to the public?

The feature is expected to be rolled out soon as part of Google’s Workspace updates.

During the Google I/O 2023 keynote, Google CEO Sundar Pichai mentioned that most of its new features will be released by the end of this year.

Export Google Bard responses into Gmail

While the much anticipated Help Me Write feature is not yet available in Gmail you can use Google Bard in a slightly different way when writing emails. You can export Google Bard’s responses into Gmail.

To do this you need only look below the Google Bard response and then select the export response icon, followed by the draft in Gmail option. This will create a new draft email in Gmail with that same Google Bard response.

Final word

Many people are eagerly anticipating the release of these new developments by Google.

As we wait for the integration of Google Bard into Gmail, we can’t help but wonder about the potential impact it will have on email communication.

Will it truly revolutionize the way we write emails? Only time will tell. For now, we can appreciate the impressive capabilities of AI technology and the exciting advancements being made in the world of digital communication.
