Are there shrines in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom? The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild introduced smaller dungeon like areas called shrines. They presented puzzles that ended with Link gaining a spirit orb used to upgrade his health or stamina, but will Tears of the Kingdom feature them as well?

Well, seeing that shrines were rather important in Breath of the Wild, having them in Tears of the Kingdom would make sense. It would be silly not to have shrines as explorable areas in the game. Players are curious to know if shrines will be in the Tears of the Kingdom as they were necessary to explore if you wanted more hearts and stamina.
In the first game, they functioned as smaller more streamlined dungeons that all ended with Link gaining a spirit stone. Once four orbs were collected, players could visit a Goddess Statue to level up either Link’s hearts or stamina. Both are incredibly useful to have if you want to glide further without falling to your doom.
By looking at the game’s trailers for hints, we can see elements of shrines in the world. For instance, the third official trailer for Tears of the Kingdom shows what could in fact be evidence of shrines in the game. For but a moment, Link can be seen riding a glowing blue disc like an elevator. Similar shaped discs were used in shrines in Breath of the Wild. Once Link entered a shrine, he would descend on the magical elevator deeper into the shrine itself.
Having the same design, shape, and style points to shrines being in Tears of the Kingdom, but again it could be something else entirely. With so many features, from crafting, building, and sky exploration, in Tears of the Kingdom, the game certainly has plenty to see and do.
