Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 undergoing name change in season 4 according to leak

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 has officially been out worldwide for 6 months now. However, it seems the game is going to undergo a big change regarding its title. Warzone 2.0 released in the middle of November last year, after months of the fans waiting for it, and seems to be getting a makeover.
This is a free-to-play Call of Duty multiplayer game that continues the battle royale franchise, with the first version, Call of Duty Warzone, released on March 10, 2020. This version of the game was only available on PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One.
Call of Duty Warzone had been released as part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 content. Warzone 2.0 is considered the sequel to the 2020 CoD Warzone, being available on all the consoles as the first but also the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as well.

A tweet from Twitter user CharlieIntel shares how, even with the game has only been out 6 months, it will receive a name change. Activision will officially be dropping the 2.0 from Warzone 2.0 and the game will be called Warzone, just as the first one.
CharlieIntel themself adds some commentary about how the game should have always just been called “Warzone” and that the 2.0 did nothing for the overall game to begin with. The image also displays a different font as well with a purple and black theme.
Reading below in the comments of the tweet, many fans also agree with CharlieIntel that having the 2.0 on the title didn’t really make sense. It seems Activision also sees that and that’s why at the begging of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 4, the game will just be known as Call of Duty Warzone.
