The new Warzone 2 map, Vondel, drops with the huge Season 4 update on June 14 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and along with it comes new game modes, new weapons including the new ISO 45 SMG, Tempus Razorback assault rifle, and Tonfa melee weapon, new operators, and more Prestige ranks and levels to grind for medals at launch. Vondel is a sizable map, but how big is it? If you’re wondering how big is Vondel compared to Al Mazrah in Warzone 2, we’ve got you covered.

Warzone 2 – How big is Vondel compared to Al Mazrah?

The Vondel map, a baroque European city map, is smaller than the massive Al Mazrah map, but that doesn’t mean it’s tiny. Vondel is a medium-sized map that sits between the sizes of Ashika Island and Al Mazrah, so while it’s not the largest, it’s no small enclosed space, either.

The new map has a variety of locations in the city, from tight narrow spaces to open stadiums, a medieval castle, a soccer stadium, and even floating districts and a cruise terminal for action on the water or the taxi boats. Gunfights can be close-quarters with your squadmate at your side, or you can hop up on a platform for a high stakes sniper battle with an enemy player during the new public event, titled the Vondel event, for more player XP. Just make sure you have the best loadout that’s available for new approaches to the chaos of combat.

The Vondel map has 17 points of interest on the map, compared to the 18 POIs on Al Mazrah. These are all different categories of drop zones, and the POIs include:

  • Castle
  • University
  • City Hall
  • Courtyard
  • Souvenir District
  • Graveyard
  • Mall
  • Central Station
  • Market
  • Police Station
  • Fire Department
  • Floating District
  • Zoo
  • Stadium
  • Museum
  • Exhibit
  • Cruise Terminal

There are plenty of rewards to be found around Vondel, including the new vehicle, the Tactical Amphibious Vehicle or TAV four-passenger vehicle, and you can find the bounty board, weapons locker, contraband armaments, buy station discounts, barter recipes, and more in the Forward Operating Base hub feature, or the FOB, that’s been added in the menu system.

The Vondel map can hold 18 players for DMZ, and 72 players for Resurgence mode, so you can expect to see plenty of operators and squad members on the field for different game modes, with standard Battle Royale mode coming to the playlists in a mid-season update to Vondel, as well, to fight to be the last squad standing. The mid-season update will include the last RAID episode, operator upgrades, and more.

Vondel will feature dynamic fog as well, different from Al Mazrah’s sandstorm and sand banks that have finally receded in the Season 4 update.

Al Mazrah is still the largest map in Warzone 2, due to its absolutely massive size that can fit up to 15 Ashika Islands inside of its space. Vondel map, and every other map in Warzone 2, just can’t do that. Al Mazrah is still the king of map sizes, even if Vondel is part of the newest season.

The new Season 4 update with its new amphibious vehicle, new ranked season, and new items is available for any platform you play on, including PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
