Call of Duty Vanguard has finally arrived and eager players are already diving into servers to play competitive multiplayer, campaigns, and zombies – with most feedback resulting in a positive outlook. Amongst the fun and games, however, there have been several bug reports – one of which is an audio issue that makes footsteps, well, almost imperceptible. That’s right, forget sneaking around in the new COD, you can just as easily ambush your enemy thanks to poorly optimized footstep audio that is almost entirely masked.

The issue first came to light via a Reddit post where users were complaining about the audio design of the game – saying it was almost impossible to pinpoint where the enemy was coming from. And as you can imagine, playing a competitive game under these conditions is less than ideal.

Gamers not happy with Call Of Duty: Vanguard audio issues

A recent post on the Warzone subreddit stated that sound is the biggest problem in Vanguard – a surprise to many considering the many issues that previous iterations of the game have encountered.

That being said, not all players are experiencing annoying audio issues, with many praising the audio quality of the game. It seems to be a bit of a lottery at the moment as to whether you will experience said audio issues or not.

All being said, it’s still unclear whether or not Sledgehammer is doing anything to address the issue. That being said, they are fully aware of the problems, stating that the development team is aware of the issue.

Call of Duty: Vanguard launched with full cross-play support for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. Many of the gameplay features have received high praise – with only few bugs annoying fans of the game.
