All Game Modes in MW2 Season 6

There are four game modes coming to Season 6 of MW2:

  • The Haunting: Operation Nightmare
  • The Haunting: Vondead
  • The Haunting: Zombie Royale
  • The Haunting: Vondead Lockdown

Along with these game modes, Season 6 will also bring a spooky twist to several existing game modes:

  • Haunting Domination: A Scarecrow will be the marker for each flag
  • Haunting Kill Confirmed/Grind: Instead of dog tags, collect skulls
  • Haunting Drop Zone Drop Scares: Crates could contain spooky jump scares
  • Haunting Infected: Infected will appear as Haunting-themed zombies

Let’s break down all the game modes and scenarios coming to MW2 and Warzone so you can know what to expect in the latest season.

MW2 Season 6 All Haunting Game Modes

The Haunting: Operation Nightmare

Jump into a spooky reskin of Al Mazrah as Eldritch anomalies have been appearing since the Hellmouth incident. It’s your task to investigate these anomalies and take care of them. There are mission parameters and initial recon to follow that can reward you with Blueprints.

At the anomalies, several phenomena have been observed according to intel; an entity known as The Pharaoh, mysterious lights known as orbs, a fast-moving spectral apparition capable of piloting operator vehicles, an abomination known as a Swamp Creature, wisp-like Evil Spirits, and The Butcher from Diablo. Operation Nightmare is coming mid-season.

The Haunting: Vondead

Zombies have returned. Vondel has been the victim of a demonic incantation that has brought the undead back to life and roaming the streets. It’s up to you to stop this zombie outbreak.

You’ll need to take down various demonic altars set up throughout the city, as you investigate other hotspots of activity throughout the zombie wasteland. The Butcher is also wandering around, and you’ll need to face him if you want to stop the undead from claiming Vondel for good. Vondead is coming in mid-season.

The Haunting: Zombie Royale

Zombie Royale is back from previous Haunting events. Both Vondel and Al Mazrah have been reskinned for the event, and multiple teams are put in to fight the undead and infected.

Operators can still fight if turned into the undead and can make for some interesting tactics. Expect that all those turned into spectators will come back to life as twitching zombies as well! The squad that defeats enemies both living and undead will claim victory. This is a limited-time mode available during mid-season.

The Haunting: Vondead Lockdown

Vondead is under lockdown. Back from Season 4, this mode lets you bring a custom loadout, and capture and hold zones around the large Battle Royale map. This time, however, all of Vondel has been turned into Vondead, so you’ll play under the dark of night. This is a limited-time mode available at mid-season.

All of these modes are a part of The Haunting event taking place during Season 6 of MW2 and Warzone.

However, that’s not all there is to see in Season 6. There’s a brand new Battle Pass to complete, along with a BlackCell Pass. New crossover operators are coming, including Spawn, Al Simmons, Ash Williams from Evil Dead 2, Inarius and Lilith from Diablo, Skeletor from Masters of the Universe, Alucard from Hellsing, and more. New weapons include a new assault rifle, a new melee weapon, and a new SMG. Fans can check out the new maps like Koro Village, Embassy, and La Casa. Map reskins are also coming, including El Asilo.

There are tons of new operator skins, like the Creepy Clown, Nikto Spawn, Gaia, Soul Crusher, Disruptor, and plenty more. There are tons of bundles you can find all the new content in, including the DOOM Chainsaw.

Activision has pulled out all the stops for the launch of the final season of MW2 and Warzone on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. From the new hauntingly fun game modes to spooky updates for the battlefield, Season 6 is sure to please fans before the start of Modern Warfare III.

But the big question is, will Modern Warfare 3’s beta launch feature these modes too?
