CoD Vanguard is out now, and many players are absolutely dominating the game with the MP40. Back in the game’s beta, the MP40 was by far one of the strongest weapons in the game and remains so right now. So, if you want to beat your opponents with one of the god weapons, then we have a CoD Vanguard MP40 loadout and setup guide for you.

CoD Vanguard MP40 loadout

Before we go deeper into the MP40 build, you need to know what the MP40 is good at. The first thing you need to know is that the weapon is the best SMG in the game. The weapon doesn’t necessarily win in every weapon stat, but it certainly has high ratings. The weapon packs a punch, and has pretty much the best damage a round. Not to mention the gun has great control and mobility, along with solid range for an SMG. It pretty much means you can opt to run the gun in various ways, and you’ll find the weapon works incredibly well.

However, for the purpose of this guide, we’ll direct you towards a build well suited for the SMG. The standard run and gun MP40 setup. Note there are a few variations, so these are the attachments we highly recommend running.

  • Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer.
  • Barrel: Krausnick 317mm O4B.
  • Stock: VDD 34m Padded.
  • Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled.
  • Rear Grip: Fabric Grip.

These four attachments are the core you need. The barrel makes the gun easier to control, while the stabilizer reduces the recoil. These two attachments, in theory, make your recoil almost non-existent. You can lock onto heads and drill your opponent with MP40 rounds with ease if you have great aim. As for the other two compulsory attachments, you want the padded and angle grip to make running and your aiming much easier to use. Meanwhile, the Fabric grips grant better ADS for those precision moments.

As for your magazine and ammo type, it is entirely preferential. The 24 fast mag is great for almost having almost instant reloads. On the other hand, a 32 bullet magazine is a great choice for longer fights. Meanwhile, your ammo type can be FMJ for that extra damage, armor and bullet penetration. Overall, we’ll let you build the weapon into your style. There is no point in saying something is the best build when the build doen’;t work for you and your playstyle.

MP40 Perks and Kit

  • Perk 1: Ghost
  • Perk 2: Radar
  • Perk 3: Tactician
  • Secondary: 1911 or Revolver.
  • Lethal: MK2 Frag Grenade / Gammon Bomb.
  • Tactical: Stim / Stun Grenade.
  • Field Upgrade: Armor.

The core of the MP40 Perks requires your usual highly mobile perk build, along with the kit you need to ensure you stay alive. For example, you need ghost to disappear from enemy radars and killstreaks, ensuring that the sky doesn’t give you away. Also, you’ll want radar, so you can track down your opponents easier and get those extra frags on the scoreboard. Lastly, you want a tactician because it allows you to restock your tactical equipment every 30 seconds.

Your secondary is entirely optional, to be honest. We recommend taking the M1911 because it is a reliable firearm. But, if you want that extra range firepower, we recommend the Revolver, so you can sling meaty rounds across the map. If you prefer something else, go with what your heart’s content.

As for your tactical and grenade, we recommend taking the stim. The stim allows you to heal in combat. Since you’re running headfirst into danger at full sped, the Stim is incredibly strong for your build. If you’re on a map with plenty of corners,  or prefer to run on-site and take objectives like the patrol or hardpoints the stun grenade is very good option.

Lastly, you want Armor, as you’re going to be in combat quite often. It take s short while to unlock, so we recommend taking whatever you want before that point. The Tactician recharge rate makes the fast recharge even better, so you can get your armor as often as possible.

Also, there’s this funny clip of MP40 in action two shotting in limbs. Yeah, enjoy this gun while you can as it is ridiculous.
