The Resident Evil franchise has always had some pretty over-the-top boss fights with great horror elements thrown in. These bosses challenge your way of thinking and make you look for weak points that you can exploit. As you reach the throne room, you will be greeted by Verdugo, Salazar’s right-hand man that is reminiscent of a Xenomorph from the Alien franchise. As you make your way through the sewer, you will come face-to-face with Verdugo in one of the most terrifying boss battles that Resident Evil 4 Remake has to offer.
How to kill Verdugo in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Verdugo makes an appearance after you turn on the power in the waterways of chapter 10. Shortly before entering the area with the elevator, you will have a run-in with the friendly merchant so you can sort out some of your weapons and pick the best ones. Remember, once you turn on the power there is no turning back so make sure you are prepared.
As you make your way through the waterway, you will see these red pipes with switches on them. These are nitrogen dispensers. When the green light is glowing, that means you can interact with it. These will be important later. Turn on the power, and Verdugo will appear as you make your way back to the waterway and over to the elevator.

When Verdugo appears, make your way to the nearest nitrogen dispenser. As soon as you see Verdugo, activate the dispenser and move out of the way. The nitrogen will freeze Verdugo in place for a short period of time. Use this time to fire as many bullets as you can into Verdugo’s head before he unfreezes. If you have time, you can even give him a good kick to stun him.
Keep using the nitrogen to freeze Verdugo as you go through the waterways. It will take a lot of ammo, but you can kill Verdugo as long as you keep aiming for his head and using the nitrogen. Of course, you can also take the easy route by using the RPG. Once rocket is all it takes to kill Verdugo when he is frozen. If you haven’t already purchased the RPG, the merchant will sell you one for 80,000 Pts.
