As you’re a private investigator in Shadows of Doubt, solving crimes is all part of the job. Yet, it can be confusing to enter a crime scene and be attacked for just doing your job. Police officers and detectives are often seen working together but do they in Shadows of Doubt? If you want to know if it’s possible to work alongside the police, we’ve got the answer to the case.

Is it possible to work with the police in Shadows of Doubt?

No, you are unable to work with the police. Since you are a private eye, you work alone and do not handle official police business. This means that if you cross a police barrier or crime scene tape, you will be considered trespassing. If a police officer notices you trespassing, they will pull out their gun and open fire on you. Your next choice is to run or fight back, but seeing as you’ll probably be overpowered by the bullets, it’s best you run so you can avoid paying hospital bills.

Instead, what you can do is speak with police officers to gain information for your case file. Many officers not like you at first, leaving them pretty standoffish to answer any of your questions. While others will respond more kindly and may even offer to help you on your case. That being said, you are not one of them so don’t for a second believe you can assist an officer when it comes to investigating a crime.

With the game being in Early Access and the developers constantly making updates, they may patch in the option later on. Players have said they would like to see some sort feature where you can work alongside the police, or even have multiplayer to play with friends, but it’s yet to be made possible.
