FOV is extremely important in games like CS2. The right FOV can improve your gameplay experience, something that a lot of players don’t realize. There is no use in getting the best GPU or CPU for CS2 if you are not playing with the right FOV. And if you’re currently wondering about how to change FOV in CS2, you’ve come to the right place.

How can I change my FOV in CS2?

To change FOV in CS2, you must go to the in-game settings menu. This can be done by clicking on the Gear button located in the top left corner of the screen. Then, head over to the GAME tab, where you’ll find a setting named Viewmodel Position. Alternatively, you can also type it’s name in the search bar to access it quickly.

The Viewmodel Position lets you choose from three Field of View presets. Unfortunately, CS2 lacks a FOV slider, which could have made things easier.

  • Desktop: This is the default FOV setting, and it will place your weapon almost near the center of your monitor screen.
  • Classic: This preset will move your weapon into the right corner of your screen, something that will open up a lot of space and clear the view.
  • Couch: As for the third and final preset, it will not only bring your weapon close to the center of the screen but will also lift it up.

Now, in case you are not satisfied with the presets in the game settings, you can use the console to change the FOV as per your requirements. To do this, make sure you’ve enabled the developer console in the settings. If you already have, press the ` key on your keyboard to open the console, type viewmodel_fov 54, and press Enter. 54 is the lowest value you can set, while 68 is the highest. Keep playing around with the FOV command while staying between these values to find the perfect FOV for yourself in Counter-Strike 2.

Furthermore, you can also adjust the height of your weapon using viewmodel_offset_x, viewmodel_offset_y, and viewmodel_offset_z console commands. You can add a value after the x and press Enter. You can play with all three Viewmodel commands until you get the right setting.
