Are you ready to start the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC? This DLC will take you to Dogtown which is now taken over. This addition to Cyberpunk 2077’s base game will have you playing through a new main story as you explore a new area and uncover hidden secrets.

Phantom Liberty is full of new quests that will take you out of Night City. This spy-thriller-style DLC can be accessed in multiple ways and you can bring over your attributes from the main quest line. Thanks to the 2.0 update, you can now get perk points and better forge your new character.

Get ready to take on a new type of Night City. Don’t get played in the process. Make sure you ready your skills ahead of time because the missions won’t be easy. This guide will show you how to start the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC.

How to start the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion

There are two ways to start the Phantom Liberty DLC:

  • Going through the main story
  • Accessing it through the main menu

If you are already around the part of the game where the DLC takes place, you can start it up. However, if you would rather jump straight to the DLC, you can start it from the main menu.

To start the DLC in the main campaign you will need to play up to and complete the Transmission quest. During this quest, you will track down the Voodoo Boys at Pacifica. This is also the quest where you meet Placide and Brigitte.

Once you have completed this quest, you should get a call from Songbird. Answering the call will allow you to start the Phantom Liberty DLC. This happens pretty late in the game and will take around 20 hours to reach if you start a new game.

If you would rather jump straight to the DLC, you can access it through the main menu. When you start a new game, you will get asked if you want to have a “regular start” or “skip ahead to Phantom Liberty.” Selecting the latter of the options will allow you to just straight to the DLC and avoid the story leading up to it. We only recommend this if you have beaten the game before.
