Dead Island 2 has finally risen from the dead and is set to come out in just a few days. Fans of the franchise are ready to get back into the zombie-killing action to see what happened after the Island resort of Banoi. However, it seems that the systems Dead Island 2 are releasing on are quite limited. Let’s go over if Dead Island 2 will be releasing on Switch.
Will Dead Island 2 Be On Switch?
Sadly, it seems that Dead Island 2 will not be coming to Switch anytime soon. This is not too shocking considering that Dead Island 2 is only coming to next-gen consoles and the Switch has a hard time keeping up with the PS4 and Xbox One. However, this doesn’t mean we will never see Dead Island 2 on the Switch.
Like many other Triple-A games, it could come to Switch down the line after the developers are able to scale down the game to run properly on the console. Although, they could also just leave the Switch by the roadside and not release a version of Dead Island 2 at all.
This is tragically the sacrifice the Switch makes to be both a handheld and home console at the same time. It pales in comparison to the power of the next-gen consoles and even falls short of the previous generation as well.
However, Nintendo fans have a bigger release on the horizon, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. But while fans are rejoicing at a new Zelda game, the bigger concern is that this game could spell the end of the Switch’s generation.
It would make sense as Nintendo needs to release a new console in order to compete with the next-gen of consoles from Sony and Xbox. The Switch may have its exclusives to carry it but will continue to miss out on Triple-A titles like Dead Island 2 if something doesn’t change.
