In Call of Duty MW2 Season 3 and the entire Call of Duty Franchise, one of the most common challenges that appear for unlocking new weapons is a hip-fire challenge. Here is whether or not Akimbo counts as hipfire.

Do Akimbo count as hipfire kills in MW2?

In short, yes, as it has almost always been the case with Call of Duty titles. Killing with dual-wielding or Akimbo weapons will count as hip-fire kills in Call of Duty MW2 Season 3 Reloaded and Warzone.

After all, since you aren’t able to aim and your hip-fire accuracy will be tested while using Akimbo weapons, it’s only right that they do count as hipfire kills. You’re not going to hit any mid to long-range kills and if you are here for Camo Challenges this might not work as well.

When hip-fire kills come to mind, it’s hard not to imagine that using some sort of Akimbo weapon would help considering how strong they continue to be in Call of Duty. Especially with the new FTAC challenge specifically needing hip-fire kills.

What Loadouts are designed for Akimbo attachment

You would think that dual-wielding any weapons would be a bonus but here is a specific loadout designed to complement Akimbo. First add the FT Steel Fire Muzzle, with sound suppression, faster bullet velocity, and improved recoil this is a great starting point for your dream Akimbo set-up. You should also tune this attachment to prioritize recoil control smoothness

The best Akimbo pistol loadout uses the P890 and these attachments:

  • Muzzle: FT Steel Fire
  • Ammunition: 45 Auto Armor Piercing
  • Laser: 1MW Pistol Laser
  • Rear Grip: Akimbo
  • Field Upgrade: Dead Silence
  • Tactical: Stun Grenade
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Base Perk 1: Double Time
  • Base Perk 2: Tracker
  • Bonus Perk: Spotter
  • Ultimate Perk: Ghost

For those who want to add the FTAC Siege to their arsenal, grab a pair of Akimbo pistols and go to town on multiplayer. Sprint across the map taking down enemies as you barrel through the smaller maps taking advantage of the close range.
