The RPG gameplay featured in Honkai: Star Rail has intrigued many PvP enthusiasts who like competing against their friends. Well, since there are a number of rumors circulating on the internet about whether a PvP feature will be present in Honkai: Star Rail, dive into our guide to find a definitive answer! 

Is there PvP in Honkai: Star Rail?

Unfortunately, Honkai: Star Rail does not allow a PvP mode against other players, and it’s hard to say that there will be one in the near future. This is to prevent any imbalances that might occur between free-to-play players and buyers in the game. The game features a gacha system with all characters having unique abilities and utilities enabling a different set of advantages in battle.

With everyone having a different mix of characters, it would be difficult to factor out victory for one of the players. Moreover, it would grant an unfair competitive edge to people with better Eidolons (special stats unlocked through multiple copies of the same character), five-star characters, and Light Cones (pieces of equipment to boost stats) which are purely dependent on the game’s gacha.

Honkai: Star Rail is not a pay-to-win game, since any free-to-play player will be able to progress through the game’s story at the same pace as buyers in the game. Although spending real money on the game would allow you to buff your characters significantly, it won’t grant you an advantage to let you finish the game early on since the story progression isn’t dependent on how strong your character is. 

Moreover, Honkai: Star Rail, like other HoYoverse releases, has a PvE world that isn’t really demanding and can be cleared out by farming easily within the game. While you would have much stronger characters and be able to dash through everything if you started purchasing your pulls, it won’t really be essential to finish the game’s storyline.
