If you’re one of those gamers who is waiting with bated breath for Dragonflight to land, you’ll probably want to know the download size for the expansion.
WoW was already well over 100GB for anyone who owned all of the expansions, so there is an obvious bit of concern about the size that the game will be with Dragonflight.
Read on to discover how much of an upgrade, if any, you’ll need to do to get the expansion installed on your PC.
WoW Dragonflight Download Size
The overall download size of WoW Dragonflight is 132 GB, according to the game’s official system requirements page. This is the total that includes the vanilla version of WoW, as well as all of the free expansions that are now available.
That would make the size for just Dragonflight around 30 GB, though it’s hard to be precise in that fact.

Most expansion releases will still use a chunk of files from the base game and previous expansion. As such, it’s not really possible to tell how much of that space is new stuff and how much is re-using old assets.
Not that it should matter how big Dragonflight is on its own. Without the base game, you won’t be able to play it anyway.
WoW Dragonflight Gameplay Details
As you can probably guess, Dragonflight includes new areas to explore in the world of Azeroth. You’ll also be pleased to hear that there’s a new class and a new race coming to the game as well.
A bit like Mists of Pandera, this time around, each race isn’t explicitly tied to either the Horde or the Alliance. As such, you can go for either one and still be a Dracthyr (dragon-people, basically.)

The new class, Evoker, is also exclusive to the Dracthyr race. You can’t make a non-Crafthyr Evoker, and you can’t make a Dracthyr that is any other class. It’s a bit annoying to be stuck to playing dragon-people as ranged DPS/Healer exclusively.
One final note right now is that you’re only allowed a single Dracthyr character on each realm, even if you try to make it a different alignment. So make sure you’re happy with the final results before you hit ‘OK.’
