EA Sports PGA Tour is on the horizon and it won’t be long until we can take to the different courses on offer. One of the most exciting things with any new sports game is sinking your teeth into a good career mode.

Fortunately, EA Sports PGA Tour looks to boost a pretty impressive career mode so players can become the ‘master’ of their destiny. So here is everything we know so far about the career mode coming in EA Sports PGA Tour as well as a look at the trailer recently revealed.

EA Sports PGA Tour Career Mode

The Career Mode in PGA Tour is all angled around trying to get to the Master, all the way from starting out at amateur level. The journey players will go on is starting at the Korn Ferry Tour/the PGA Tour, afterwards you will be able to play through U.S. Amateur Championship, Augusta National Women’s Amateur, The Amateur Championship, Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, and Latin American Amateur Championship, culminating in Q-school. Giving players a great tour of all the new courses.

PGA Tour career mode character creator

Before you begin your journey you will have to create your own pro, with what looks like a very comprehensive character creator, hopefully it can ensure everyone is included.

EA Sports PGA Tour Career Mode Skill Progression

The progression in EA Sports PGA Tour has been described on their website as an “RPG style of progression”. Therefore you earn XP and skill points in different categories. These categories are power, driving, approach, short game and putting. In this players will be able to unlock all new types of shots, upgrading them from bronze through to gold.

Your pro will have a variety of different attributes as listed below:

  • Power
    • Power influences your swing speed which determines the distance all of your shots go.
  • Accuracy
    • With higher accuracy comes a shot dispersion area and a smaller mishit window size. Your swing execution will also be more accurate.
  • Control
    • With higher control attributes, your shot will have more natural spin and you’ll be able to shape your shot more as well as add more spin while your shot is in the air. The higher your control the more accurately you’ll be able to influence these parts of your play.
  • Recovery
    • Recovery decreases the impact of penalties applied when in bad lies such as rough and sand. This includes:
      • Carry distance penalty
      • The size of the range shown in the carry distance penalty window
      • Natural spin penalty
      • Shot shaping penalty
      • Spin control penalty
      • Mishit tolerance window penalty
      • Penalty for off-plane swings and mishits
