Final Fantasy 16 is the next game in the beloved series created by Square Enix. The game has you playing as Clive Rosfield, the first shield of Rosaria, as he gets revenge for his younger brother Joshua’s death. Throughout Final Fantasy XVI, you will explore Valisthea, using the power of Eikons and magicks in combat.

Alongside the revenge story, Clive must learn what is going on with the mysterious blight that threatens to destroy the dominions. Since there are many games that ultimately become free to play, could this happen to Final Fantasy 16? Is Final Fantasy 16 free to play?

Will Final Fantasy 16 be free to play?

In short, no. Final Fantasy 16 will not be free to play at any time before or after its launch in June. Instead, Final Fantasy 16 will actually come with a pretty hefty price tag depending on the edition you get and the bonuses offered.

There are three different versions of Final Fantasy 16; standard, deluxe, and collector’s edition. Each has its own bonuses such as new swords, accessories, and even a statue. Depending on the edition you purchase, you can spend anywhere from $69.99 to $349.99.

One part of the game is free which is the demo. The Final Fantasy 16 demo allows you to play through the game’s prologue as well as a future mission. You can download the demo to your PlayStation from the PS Store.

The demo also lets you try out a few of the Timely Accessories in which will help you control Clive and his party members such as Torgal. You will also get to witness the great power of the Dominants as they summon massive Eikons to battle.

Alongside the items, you can try out some of the combat where you can use multiple attacks and magic to route enemies. Specifically, you can use the power of the Eikon Phoenix. The gameplay is worth checking out if you plan on purchasing the game.

Unfortunately, Final Fantasy 16 has timed exclusivity on the PlayStation platform. It could possibly come to PC or Xbox consoles later on. Even then, the game will not end up being free to play.
