Will there be a Final Fantasy 16 Steam Deck release?
The latest installment of Final Fantasy is set to launch in June 2023, and many Square Enix enthusiasts are eager to get their pre-orders started. This brings them to the question of what platforms they can purchase Final Fantasy XVI on. Unfortunately, Final Fantasy 16 is a PlayStation exclusive and will remain for six months. However, based on an interview with the Japanese PlayStation Blog, producer Naoki Yoshida states a PC version is likely to come out in half a year. So, we can expect a Steam version at the same time as the PC release of the Final Fantasy 16 game.
So, unfortunately, you will not be able to play the new era of Final Fantasy’s revenge tale on the Steam Deck any time soon. This is because the dev team spent quite a lot of time and money optimizing the Final Fantasy 16 with the PlayStation 5 hardware to provide players with the best gaming experience.
So, while the latest JRPG genre will not make its way to the Steam Deck for at least six months, the developer team made sure the game is made to perfection. Based on the Demo and previous trailers of the game, the PS5 hardware made that possible.
