There are multiple abilities for you to try out in Final Fantasy 16 with all the abilities coming from Eikons. There are multiple Eikons that you will gain access to as you progress through the game such as Phoenix, Garuda, Bahamut, Odin, Titan, Ramuh, and more.

Square Enix has made sure to add many abilities to keep the combat flowing and the gameplay exciting. Clive’s abilities change depending on which Eikon you summon. This guide will show you how to switch abilities in Final Fantasy 16.

How to change abilities in Final Fantasy 16

During combat, you can change your active abilities by simply pressing the L2 button on your PlayStation controller. Doing this will change which Eikon’s abilities you have active. At first, you will only have access to Phoenix which offers the Heatwave, Rising Flame, and Phoenix Shift abilities.

Later on, you will get access to more Eikons such as Titan which give you access to abilities like Titanic Block, Upheaval, Deadly Embrace, and various other melee attacks and magic.

When you have access to multiple Eikons, you can change your active Eikons by going into the menu using the options button. From there, go to the gear and Eikons tab. Here, you will see which Eikons you have equipped and the gear you have on like accessories and weapons.

You can change your abilities as well in the abilities tab by using your ability points gathered from combat and leveling up. Final Fantasy 16’s combat relies on the use of Eikon abilities, so make sure to choose the ones that work best for your play style and change them out if needed.
