Forza Motorsport 8 is coming out in a matter of weeks, which means prospective players can secure a copy now through pre-order. There are different versions of the game as well, so decisions have to be made. The platform on which you get the game is a decision you have to make as well. Video games generally release on a wide variety of consoles and devices, like the PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo family. Is Forza Motorsport going to be on the new PlayStation 5?
Can I get Forza Motorsport 8 on PlayStation 5?
No, Forza Horizon 8 will not be available for PlayStation 5. The franchise has had quite a few releases over the last decade and none of them have been for any PlayStation consoles. It is an Xbox exclusive and has been for quite some time. That’s not changing for the eighth installment this year.
Exclusive games are nothing new to the console wars. PlayStation has access to Gran Turismo (a different racing game), Spider-Man, God of War, and many others, but not Forza. Xbox players can play the Forza games, Starfield, Sea of Thieves, Halo, and others. These do not normally cross over whatsoever.
That means that PlayStation 5 owners will have to look elsewhere for their high-octane racing fun when the new Forza Motorsport 8 has its official launch in October. There is no gameplay to be had for them, sadly. Forza is a Microsoft property, and that company owns and produces Xboxes.
The official release date is coming very soon, but fans who own a PlayStation console will have to look into buying an Xbox Series X|S or return to Gran Turismo to drive. New physics, creative race mode, Nissan, Lamborghini, Mercedes, and other cars will not be available to them.
