Why is Scaramouche called Kabukimono in Genshin Impact?
Kabukimono is the first name Scaramouche received after Raiden Ei created the experimental puppet. He was thus meant to serve as a vessel for Raiden’s Gnosis. However, as he shed tears after his creation, Raiden thought it was best to give him freedom and allow him to control his own life.
However, as years went by, he was taken in by Mikoshi Nagamasa, Katsuragi, and Niwa Hisahide and settled in the Shakkei Pavilion. He was then accepted as one of their own, and referred to him as Kabukimono, the wandering eccentric, as he had no name then. This is how he obtained his first name.
Unfortunately, Kabukimono goes through a series of betrayals. He then names himself Kunikuzushi after a young boy who lives near Tatarasuna who dies after promising the two will live together as a family. He will then call himself Kunikuzushi after this final betrayal.
Soon after, Kunikuzushi meets Pierro, who persuades him to join the Fatui Harbingers. It is within the Eleven Fatui Harbingers that Kunikuzushi becomes known as Scaramouche. He will also obtain the codename of The Balladeer within this group.
As you can tell, Scaremouche has had many names for hundreds of years. However, after learning that Dottore was responsible for the Tatarasuna incident, Scaramouche thus decided to remove all information about his existence from Irminsul. As a result, he becomes known as the Wanderer.
