Xiao is one of Genshin Impact’s many playable characters. He’s an adeptus and the only known remaining member of the five Yakshas, who protects Liyue Harbour from afar. His stubborn, reserved personality and harrowing past have made him popular among Genshin Impact players, as well as his edgy, cool design. So, how can you get Xiao in Genshin impact for yourself?

When is Xiao available?

Since Xiao is a limited 5-star character, this means that he is only available when his event banner, Invitation to Mundane Life, is currently available. While this might be disappointing, limited Genshin characters do have rerun banners from time-to-time. This means that if you’re a die-hard Xiao fan and have yet to get him, if you save your Primogems and wishes, Xiao might be available again at some point in the future. And when he does, you’ll be prepared!

Xiao has appeared in two banners at the time of this article’s publishing. His first banner ran from 2/3/21 – 2/17/21, and featured Beidou, Diona and Xinyan as rate-up 4-stars. His first rerun banner ran from 01/05/22 – 01/25/22, and featured Chongyun, Ningguang and Yun Jin as rate-up 4-stars. This banner also ran alongside Shenhe’s first banner, The Transcendent One Returns.

How to prepare for Xiao

If you’re adamant about saving for Xiao’s next rerun banner, there are a few things you can do in the meantime to prepare for him. You could farm all of his Ascension Materials and Talent Materials so that he’s ready to play right-away. You could also get his weapon ready at Level 90, and farm and level all of his Artifacts.
