Redfall, the highly anticipated first-person shooter game developed by Arkane Studios, has finally been released and is now available to play on multiple platforms.

Set in a small town in Massachusetts overrun by vampires, Redfall follows a group of survivors as they team up to fight against the supernatural threat and save their town from destruction. One of the most common questions among gamers interested in playing Redfall is how long the game is.

Below, we will explore the estimated length of Redfall and provide insight into what you can expect from this thrilling adventure.

How Long To Complete Redfall?

Redfall is around 20 hours long if players only complete the game’s main campaign and stay away from any side stories. This has been confirmed in an interview with the game’s director, Harvey Smith, saying it will be around 20 hours long if you ‘race through’.

However, with the game featuring a complete open world experience, similar to Borderlands, and many side quests and stories, this will hardly be the case for most people playing the game. “For lots of people, it’s going to take more than that, especially if you do Safe Houses, Nests, exploring the whole world,” Smith said.

While the exact time for completing all the side quests and exploring the whole town of Redfall has not been revealed, you will likely be looking at 30ish extra hours of play.

How Similar Is Redfall To Borderlands?

The similarities between Redfall and Borderlands extend far beyond them just being looter shooters. Arkane Studios has definitely taken some inspiration for their newest game, Redfall, from the widely popular game Borderlands. This can be seen plainly in the level design, with enemies getting stronger as you progress through the game and the game allowing players to level up their weapons and equipment as they gain XP.

Just like Borderlands, Redfall has a wide array of weapons that you can use to tear through your enemies. Furthermore, players will be able to choose their own characters, with their own abilities and playstyle, to dive into the town of Redfall but will not be able to change these characters in the middle of a playthrough.

While Borderlands did have many open-world-esque mechanics in the game, such as large zones, gearboxes, and a loot system that relies heavily on exploration, it never was a fully open world. However, that is not the case with Redfall, as it fully adopts the open-world setting and creates a unique identity for itself that distinguishes it from Borderlands.
