There are many moves at your disposal in Street Fighter 6 from kicks and punches, to special moves and combos. You can even perform super arts that will rapidly drain your enemy’s HP. When your opponent is fairly tricky, you will want to pull out additional moves like the cancel.

Canceling attacks allows you to rapidly get attacks out. Throw out a flurry consisting of a light punch, or light kick, and then throw it into an overdrive attack. This is easily done by canceling your attacks. This guide will show you how to cancel moves in Street Fighter 6.

Street Fighter 6 – How to cancel moves

Canceling moves is a great strategic move in Capcom’s fighting game and it is simple to perform. To perform a cancel, input the button commands for your attack. Afterward, quickly follow it up with button commands of a special move. This will cancel out the original attack, allowing you to perform the special move faster.

By using this method, you can rapidly transition from heavy punches to a drive rush without much effort. You just need to make sure to practice your input timing. The canceling system works better using classic controls than the modern controls but both control types can be used for the maneuver.

What is a cancel in Street Fighter 6?

The cancel maneuver has been around since before Street Fighter got a fancy drive gauge added to it. A cancel is a means of halting one attack to get another off. For instance, you can put in the button commands for a heavy kick, but if you manage to also input the button commands for an uppercut before the move finishes, you will perform the uppercut more quickly.

Canceling a move doesn’t stop the move from happening. Instead, it allows you to get a second move off quicker so your opponent doesn’t have time for a counterattack. If you need help getting a cancel down, try it out in training mode first.

Keep in mind there are certain moves that don’t work with a cancel such as the block and taunt. Canceling is a great move to add to your arsenal so you can easily take down Chun-li before she throws out a spinning kick.
