The sequel to the incredibly successful The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is here in Nintendo’s latest release in the action-adventure series. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom lets you return to Hyrule, fight monsters across the land, and discover all of its secrets.
An overworld as big as this one means Link needs lots of health, stamina and fast travel points to get through, and the answer to this is shrines. Here’s how you beat the Kiuyoyou Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom if you need some help.
How to beat the Kiuyoyou Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
First things first, The shrine will open up to a large room with an ice block and flamethrowers shooting out onto the ground. Pick up the ice cube with Ultrahand ability, and put it under the flames. Don’t let it melt all the way! Get it to about half size so it can fit in the hollowed out space on the left wall where there is a small button, and take it there. Once placed on the button, the gate will rise from the doorway on the left wall.
From there, jump and use the fans to glide up to the upper level of the new room. There will be a large slab you can pick up with ultrahand, place it in front of the flames to block them from shooting from the wall. Ice cubes will fall from the ceiling, attach one of these to the slab without removing the slab from the wall.
Pick up your new ice-slab combo and drop it on the spikes that make a ramp going down, and glide back over the other side. Take the ice slab and bring it over to the flames shooting down from the ceiling and place it below it with the slab up, so the ice doesn’t melt. This will press down the large button on the floor and unlock the final room to receive your light of blessing.
There is one chest in the shrine, on the far left wall in the locked room with the fans. You can use one of the two possible ice blocks to get this chest, either:
- The ice cube in the first room, pick it up and place it on the raised platform to climb up to the chest after ascending to the platform
- The ice cube in the locked room across the chasm, send the ice cube down the spike ramp and climb up to the chest using it
Inside the chest is Zonaite Spear for Link to use. After completing, the shrine will reward you a Light of Blessing and allow you to use it as a warp point.
Where is the Kiuyoyou Shrine in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
The shrine is located near the Rowan Plain, slightly East of the Forgotten Temple and West of the Great Hyrule Forest in Northern Hyrule. The coordinates are -1106, 2090, 0104. The shrine is out in the open, so it’s hard to miss, with just a few trees behind it.
