One particularly frustrating error code that has been plaguing PS5 players lately is error code CE-117773-6. Plenty of people have been venting their frustrations on Reddit and beyond. We’ve done our best to bring you some fixes that have been claimed to work:

  • Navigate to this website to check the current status of the PSN servers. Try connecting again once the servers are back up and running.
    • If the PSN servers are working properly, try power cycling your PS5 by following these steps:
    • Press and hold the power button of the system until you hear two beeping noises to turn off the console. The first beep should occur almost immediately while the second one should occur a few seconds later.
    • Once the console has shut down, unplug its power cable from the power outlet.
    • Wait for at least 20 minutes.
    • Plug your console back into the power outlet and turn it back on.
  • Try downloading a game from the PlayStation Plus Collection:
    • On the home screen of your PS5, go to the PlayStation Plus App.
    • Inside the application, press the R1 button to switch over to the Benefits tab.
    • Select PlayStation Plus Collection.
    • In the next screen, select View Games.
    • Select any game from the PlayStation Plus Collection.
    • Add the game to your library if you haven’t done so already.
    • Try downloading the game. If successful, the CE-117773-6 error should disappear.
  • Try buying or downloading the product on another device:
    • Visit the PlayStation Store website on a device with a web browser.
    • Use the official mobile app of PlayStation to access the PS Store.
  • Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Other and select Restore Licenses. Then, restart your console. This trick worked for some and it will hopefully work for you as well.
  • Go into safe mode and rebuild the PS5 database and cache.
