The Fuse ability is new to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and it is useful for sticking items together. Thanks to this ability, you can construct materials using the Ultrahand. The items you attach can be used to construct a makeshift hammer, cars, and even boats.

When you want a weapon like a tree branch to be stronger, you fuse another item to it. Sometimes, the fused material gets unique effects from whatever item is attached to it. What happens when you want to untick an item though? This guide will show you how to infuse materials in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to unstick materials in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

There are two ways to fuse items together; the Ultrahand ability and the Fuse ability. Just like in Breath of the Wild, you can make some pretty crazy contraptions, except this time it’s on purpose.

To stick items together using the Ultrahand, you need to pull up the ability menu and activate the hand. Afterward, select two materials and combine them. To unstick two materials, you will need to grab the item in a whole with the Ultrahand mode and then shake the right analog stick.

After a short while, the attached item will break off what you attached it to. The original materials will fall to the ground and you can start building all over again.

How to un-fuse weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

If you want to unfuse a weapon like a makeshift axe that you threw together, you will need to head to Tarrey Town. This is a good way away from the Great Sky Island you called home at the start of the game.

In Terry Town, you will find a Goron child named Pelison. Talk to him and he will be able to unfuse a weapon. To start, you will need to select the weapon you fused. Next, you will need to pay Pelison 20 Rupees. Afterward, he will unfuse the materials and give you back the original weapon.

Not only does this work with a fused weapon, but it also works with shields. Bring all of your different weapons to Pelison if you need them unfused.

Unfortunately, this is how unfusing items works. You can’t just shake them apart like the variety of creations you make with the Ultrahand.
