We have all been there, played either a really good tournament or really really bad match and wondered exactly how you managed to scrape that win out by the skin of your teeth. Or you have seen Ryu’s Denjin Charge and wondered how to do that.

Street Fighter 6 and Capcom have made it even easier to watch game replays of matches and analyse where you went right (or horribly wrong.) Here is how you can access your amazing fight replay files.

How to watch replays

Accessing these menus may vary between consoles, we have tried to incorporate all the accessibility options we can currently find for you to watch the replays of your online matches and assess how you became a winner in that final fight.

  1. Access the Multi Menu by Pressing
    PC – Press Tab
Xbox/PlayStation – Press the Options button
  2. Select the second menu on the top row titled CFN (Capcom Fighters Network)
  3. Select the third menu in titled Replays
  4. Find the specific match you want to watch.
  5. Enjoy watching Ryu’s cape fly in slow motion while you realise you’re a much better fighter than your opponent.

There are optional steps to this to optimise your replay watching to enable you to see your own inputs, frame rate and other data. The ability to see a frame rate display is a new feature to the replays menu added since Street Fighter V.

  • Input Data Display – This will show you the physical buttons and combos you were hitting during gameplay.
  • Attack Data – This will show you how much damage your specific attacks were doing against your opponents.
  • Frame Data – The time each of your attacks takes to complete and then return to a fighting stance. This is also dependent on your CPU and graphics settings.

Why watch your replays

When playing fighting games like Street Fighter 6 there is a level of technical understanding that can give you an advantage in understanding your favourite characters and help increase your own rankings and shoot you up the leader board. By being able to re-watch replays there are a multitude of advantages you can gain:

  • Understanding your own play style, are you more defensive in world tour mode and more aggressive in battle hub matches?
  • Optimising Combos against specific characters.
  • Assessing frame data between attacks to gain combat advantage in online play
  • watching your own or other people’s cool moves in casual matches and seeing what input was used.
  • Assisting new players and rookie players in boosting their skill level by seeing exactly what buttons you were mashing to get that cool combo and special moves.
  • Checking out the cool outfits you unlocked from the Hub Goods Shop in slow motion.

Now it’s time for you to go kick Ryu’s behind and then watch the snazzy replay as you hundred lightning legs of other players into the ground.
