Dead Island 2 is the official second numbered game in the series and fans are excited to jump back into the zombie killing. Of course, when a game has a number in its title, many often assume that it is a direct sequel. So far, little has been said about how much of a sequel Dead Island 2 is. Dead Island 2 releases in the middle of April and is the highly-anticipated second numbered game in the Dead Island series. The events of Dead Island 2 are set after those in the original game. While many may be hoping for the game to be a direct sequel, the game is only a sequel in name alone. It is set in the same world but in a completely different environment and with different characters.
The original Dead Island was set on the island of Banoi. While this island paradise was nice, it is far different from the setting of Dead Island 2 though it is set in the same world. In the second title, you play as a survivor who just walked away from a plane crash and must fend for themselves in the city of L.A. While the title isn’t a direct sequel, there is room for characters from the original to make a return as NPCs.
