With the game out this very week, and with portable gaming becoming big in recent years, many folks are going to be asking ‘Is Dead Island 2 on Steam Deck?’. Will it be a case of being able to boot the outrageous zombie-slaying game immediately and play on the go, or will we have to wait?
Since the Steam Deck was released, many have been expecting every game to come to it. After all, the handheld console links to your Steam account and has access to your whole Steam library. Is Dead Island 2 Steam Deck compatible?
Since a large chunk of new games gets released on the Steam Deck, it is a surprise when one won’t be available. Dead Island 2 has officially been put on the Epic Games store. This means that you won’t be able to find the game on the Steam store and therefore won’t be able to download it to your Steam Deck. This is unfortunate for many who were hoping to play the game on the go after it’s released.
While it is true that the game won’t be coming to Steam in the near future, you can still get Dead Island 2 to be played on your Steam Deck. You can get the game to run on your Steam Deck by downloading two programs to it; Lutris and Heroic. Once you have done this, you can use Lutris to download games from the Epic Games Store. It is a lot more work than it would be to just download it from Steam, but it is still possible.
Keep in mind that if you download the game in this way, there is a chance that it won’t run as smoothly. This is worth noting before downloading the game.
