After years of waiting, fans are finally about to receive Dead Island 2. The original Dead Island had fans awestruck on the Xbox 360 back in 2011 and fans have been waiting for the sequel to hit the Xbox One ever since. However, some worrying news about the release platforms has been going around. let’s go over if Dead Island 2 will be released on Xbox One.

Will Dead Island 2 Be On Xbox One?

Despite the original release on the Xbox 360, Dead Island 2 will not be passing over the Xbox One and going right onto the Series X|S. Despite the running trend by other major releases, Dead Island 2 will be available to fans still on the older generation of consoles as well as the next generation too.

While this may come as a shock to many, this is a move that is becoming more common with newly released games as the time has come for the next generation of consoles to become the main platform for everyone to use. Even Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is skipping over the Xbox One.

Despite the Xbox One not being left behind by this release, it is coming time for the Xbox One to step down as a console receiving new releases. With a game in development as long as Dead Island 2, it makes sense that it is getting an Xbox One release. However, other new games could save a lot of development time not needing to downgrade for the older generation of consoles.

The time for the Xbox One has come and gone. It had 3 years to still receive new releases after the launch of the Series X|S. While this doesn’t mean that every new game will only release on the Series X|S. It should come as a wake-up call for gamers that only own an Xbox One, that it is time to trade up.
