With Dead Island 2 taking so long to finally release, many fans are on the fence about picking it up. For PC players it would also involve dealing with Epic which drives them even further away from the game. However, Dead Island 2 could be better than we think due to the extra development time. let’s go over if Dead Island 2 is worth buying.

Is Dead Island 2 Worth Buying?

Overall, Dead Island 2 is a much higher-quality game than we normally get with most releases. If you are on the fence about getting the game, you should highly consider getting it. Not only is it the long-awaited sequel to the original Dead Island, but the story takes a different approach to eh idea of a zombie outbreak in mainland America.

It features many of the same weapons and combat styles from the previous Dead Island. So it doesn’t alienate fans of the original. But it also offers enough new gameplay tweaks and changes to make it feel fresh and new. Which is normally a hard balance to achieve.

While the game is no longer an open-world experience like the original Dead Island. The new linear areas are just open enough to make you feel like it is a fully open world. Thus allowing for a bit more polish on a lot of the areas without the need to leave you in a bit empty world.

The game can also be a lot of fun to play with friends. It might not have cross-play, but it does have backward-compatible play. So you can play with someone that bought it for PS4 on your own PS5 copy, you just need to be the host.

Overall, the game can be a fun experience with a shocking amount of polish that we don’t expect from current releases. If you are considering picking it up, it will be well worth it.
