From what we’ve heard about The Day Before already, it’ll be a large survival game with a post-apocalyptic themed zombie game. So that gives players some idea of scale for when the game is finally released on the 1st of March 2023. Scale is one thing, but is The Day Before open world?
The answer to the question is unequivocally yes, the game will be open world.
This survival game slaps you into post-pandemic America, where hostility is king. The states are overrun by flesh-hungry infected and survivors killing each other for food, weapons, and cars.

So that’s the confirmation we need. The Day Before is indeed an open-world survival game set in a deadly, post-pandemic America overrun by flesh-hungry infected and survivors killing each other for food and other resources.

How is The Day Before an open world?
The Day Before can be described as the intersection between multiple other MMO open world survival games. The map, although we are not certain yet, will comprise of a cityscape and perhaps some subruban to rural areas too.
We’ve not taken survival horror into the city that often with these games, so it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out. Rest assured, it means lots of places to loot, and more places for zombies to be hiding.
Not only that, but more importantly than all of that, it appears that there will be no Dark Zone as in The Division, so you could be running into enemy players at any given moment!
So, it’s an open world multiplayer zombie game? How does it compare to DayZ then?
