Lords of the Fallen lets you choose from a wide range of weapons to defeat enemies. However, as you progress through the open world of the game, the enemies will keep getting tougher, and you’ll need to upgrade your weapons to defeat them. If you’re currently confused about how to upgrade weapons in Lords of the Fallen, don’t worry; we’ve got you covered.
How can I upgrade my weapons in Lords of the Fallen?
To upgrade weapons in Lords of the Fallen, you must visit the Blacksmith who goes by the name Gerlinde. She will upgrade your weapons in return for Vigor and Deralium. However, she isn’t available from the start, as you will have to free her first before she can start improving your weapons.
To find Gerlinde in Lords of the Fallen, you must reach the Pilgirm’s Perch Bellroom/Vestige of Blind Agatha checkpoint. Near the checkpoint, you’ll find an elevator. Use it to go down, and then use the ladder to descend to an area where you’ll have to defeat a bunch of dogs. Then, go near the cage and talk to Gerlinde.
You’ll learn that the cage is locked, and you’ll need a key to unlock it. Fortunately, it can be found on an enemy that can be found near the cage. After defeating the shield-bearing knight, pick up the key and free the Blacksmith from the cage. Once done, Gerlinde will return to the hub area at Skyrest Bridge, and you can visit her there.
It is important to note that you will need both Vigor and Deralium to upgrade your weapons. While you won’t find a lot of Deralium at the beginning of the game, it will become more common after reaching the Perch. Furthermore, along with upgrading your weapons, you can also buy or sell items at Gerlinde’s shop.
