Lost Ark is finally out for Western audiences, and with it comes all the challenges and trials of any expansive MMORPG. Whether it’s trekking through endless forest, deserts or the space in-between landmarks. Or maybe it’s going on a Dungeon dive or trying to beat that one Boss for the nth time? There are so many ways to play MMORPGS and Lost Ark is no different.
And although MMORPGS are played to interact with other players, the world is abundant in NPCs. Each of which serve a different role in-game, whether they’re Quest-Givers or merchants, most NPCs have a function. And although they can’t berate you in Discord if you steal their stuff, they can instead give you a low Rapport.
Rapport is a means of measuring NPCs attitudes towards players. Some NPCs will give you extra bonuses if you have high Rapport with them, perhaps their goods will be cheaper just for you or they’ll have special items just for you. Either way, getting high Rapport with some NPCs is highly useful. In Lost Ark, there are different tiers of Rapport an NPC will have with you, either it’s Neutral, Amicable, Friendly or Trusted. Then there are some who have an even higher tier called Affection.
When you reach higher Rapport, you’ll get rewards and new Quests will become available to you.
Increasing Rapport
There are different ways to increase your Rapport in Lost Ark. These are by giving gifts, playing instruments and emoting. NPCs will react differently to these different methods, one might like one method more than another. But you should remember that you can only gift 99 gifts, play 5 instruments and emotes 5 times a day. So either focus on one NPC for a day or spread it out between the target NPCs.
But where can you get the gifts? Well to get gifts, you’ll need to get heart-shaped currency which you can get from doing daily tasks and events. Later you can trade this for gifts from merchants and venfores.
Best NPCs in Lost Ark for High Rapport
Although all NPCs have their own benefits when you get their Rapport high enough, there are three that might be just a bit better than the rest. These are Beatrice, Captain Cavery and Sasha. All of which are useful to have as they’ll help get you a Fiant’s Heart when their Rapport is high enough.
