Fans are eager to get their hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s latest update, Season 4 announced by Activision. With a new season, of course, comes plenty of content to play through, but before you can start enjoying the new features, the new Vondel map, and new modes like Resurgence, you’ll have to download them all first. How long is the MW2 Season 4 update to download? We’re here to let you know.

How long is the MW2 Season 4 update?

The update time is going to vary based on a few factors, including what platform you play on and how good your internet connection is. The Season 4 update is predicted to be quite large, whether you play on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC, and you will have a sizeable download ahead of you.

Running at the average download speed and for each console and average broadband speed, the estimated times for the update are as follows:

  • PlayStation: 38-40 minutes
  • Xbox: 42-43 minutes
  • PC: 39-41 minutes

These times are all estimates, so you could see longer or shorter download times based on your internet connection strength. With things like dynamic fog and the new map with 15 zones, you’re in for a bit of a wait.

Luckily, you can preload the new season onto your device before the actual launch time, so you can be ready to go as soon as the newest season for MW2 arrives on the release date of Wednesday, June 14.

Season 4 for MW2 and Warzone includes tons of new content, with a Battle Pass for purchase, new operators including Nikto, Io, Butch, Izanami, and Ana Vega, new multiplayer maps including Mercado, Showdown, Penthouse, and Vondel Waterfront, new weapons including the Tempus Razorback Assault Rifle, the ISO 45 SMG, and Tonfa melee weapon. There will be plenty of new rewards for ranked play like medals, a higher prestige level cap, and new events including the Vondel event to celebrate the new map. Lookout for the new TAV vehicle, or Tactical Amphibious Vehicle, as well.

Fans of Prisoner Rescue mode and Search & Destroy mode will be pleased that the number of players in a game will be increased. Make room in your lobby for more!

With a mid-season update planned as well, even more content will be included with battle royale being available in Vondel and the RAID finale coming, and of course, new game modes and new bundles while you play Season 4.
