The newest season of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Warzone from Activision is finally here. Season 5 will be packing in fresh content with the latest update that will be coming to all platforms.
As soon as Season 5 starts, there will be plenty of new content to enjoy. New maps, new operators, and more await. It’s a great idea to preload the update so you don’t have to wait for the download to finish on the release date, but how long will that take?

MW2 and Warzone Season 5 Update Time Prediction
Unfortunately, we don’t have an official download size for the Season 5 update of MW2 and Warzone yet. With information from previous seasons, however, we can make a prediction of how long the update will take to download. We predict the download will take anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes to download depending on your internet connection.
Once the official download size of Season 5 is revealed, we’ll update this article.
Without an actual file size, it’s impossible to predict the amount of time it will take to download onto your desired platform. However, we do have previous seasons of MW2 and Warzone to look at for a prediction. Previous seasons ran around 16 GB of data for the entire season, give or take. If the Season 5 file is around a similar size, then 20 to 30 minutes to download the file is what should be expected.
What is in MW2 and Warzone Season 5?
There’s plenty of new content to get excited about in Season 5 of MW2 and Warzone. Standard releases for any season include:
- A new battle pass
- New multiplayer maps
- New operators
- New weapons
The seasonal battle pass will include a Premium tier with tier skips for earning the loot quicker. Also at launch will be new maps for multiplayer mode, new operators including Graves from the MW2 campaign, two other new playable operators Oz and Mila, and plenty more new features. Leaks from known dataminer Alaix reveal that operators based on the celebrities 21 Savage and Nicki Minaj will also be included.
Weapon balancing and bug fixes will also be a part of the update for the brand-new season of Call of Duty, as is standard for all general updates to the game. All of this and more will be available at the new season launch this August.
