Pillars of Eternity is a great return to form for the CRPG genre, which was mostly dormant, at least in the mainstream. Of course, the C part of CRPG isn’t as accurate these days, since the style has successfully been translated to the console numerous times at this point. Nevertheless, you can be sure that there’s plenty of good stuff going into this one, even if it might be a bit tough for some gamers. Luckily, if you’re a bit cack-handed when it comes to RPGs, console commands can help to even the odds a little bit.
Pillars of Eternity console commands can take you from a level 1 noob to a level 99 pro in no time flat. On top of that, you’ll also have access to a huge number of extra bonus features, like the exclusive backers-only version of the game. Read on to discover all of the amazing things that you can do with these great console commands.
How to Open the Console
While there aren’t any special requirements to open the console, you will have to enter a command to get most of the other commands in the game to actually work. Before we go any further though, you should be aware that using most commands in this game will disable achievements across the entire game, not just the save you’ve used the commands on. You can revert to a version that allows for cheats by loading a save from before you used any commands, but you have been warned.
To open the console, you can use the key underneath Esc and above Tab. This should bring up the console window where you can enter the code below to activate the bulk of commands in the game.

Pillars of Eternity 2 Console Commands
If you’re looking for commands for POE 2 then you’ve still found the right place. Luckily, all of the commands featured on this page should easily work for the second entry in the series. The only exceptions are commands that reference mechanics or features that weren’t brought forward into the second game. For instance, there is no E3, so any commands related to that won’t work. To make things easier, we’ve put an asterisk (*) next to any codes that won’t work on Pillars of Eternity 2, and a caret (^) on codes that only work in POE 2.
Pillars of Eternity useful Console Commands
With so many different console commands available, it would be pretty difficult to list them all at once without it being overwhelming. to help out, we’ve put together a few different sections to make it a bit easier to find the commands that you need. As per usual, you should be careful about using these on any saves that you want to play normally, especially since they often disable achievements.
Pillars of Eternity Utility Console Commands
These commands will let you do stuff like fix potential bug issues, learn more about the mechanics of the game, or help you to perform in-game action much more efficiently. Some of these commands won’t require the ‘iroll20s’ command to be entered, but most of them do.

Pillars of Eternity Game Version Console Commands
There are a few Pillars of Eternity console commands that will change the version of the game that you’re playing. The only thing to be aware of here is that the E3 code won’t work on POE2, as there was no E3 version of that game. however, if you do enter the code, you will get an E3 logo on the homepage, so you can try it out if you really want to. Bear in mind, these can mess up full-game saves if you try to load them while in BB or E3 mode.
