In just three days, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is already close to beating Elden Rings sales selling over 10 Million copies within those days.
Tears of the Kingdom blowing others out of the water
Not only is Zelda catching up on Elden Ring but it has almost totally surpassed its closest rival in 2024; Hogwarts Legacy, by more than 50%. It took Hogwarts Legacy nearly two full weeks to sell that many copies.
This is still no easy feat but just makes these Zelda figures even more insane and blowing the Chuchu Jellies right out of our hands.
Nintendo shared through their official Twitter account that the newest addition to the expansive Zelda franchise has sold over 10 million copies which, for reference Elden Ring had sold 12 Million copies in three days when it was released back in 2022.
That is a huge amount of sales for any game, with Tears of the Kingdom only being accessible on Nintendo Switch, these numbers are mind-blowing.
In the Tweet Nintendo also mention that Tears of the Kingdom has also become the fastest-selling game in the history of the Legend of Zelda series, there are no official figures on how many were physical or digital sales although GamesIndustry.biz reported that it was Nintendo’s second biggest boxed seller in the UK ever only being beat out by the Wii Fit Game.
With the game selling so many copies, we have a whole host of guides and tips that almost rivals the amount sold ( okay maybe we don’t have 10 million, but it’s getting close.) Check out our guides to the Shrines in Tears of the Kingdom, or even this Infinite dupe glitch.
