It’s not long now until The Game Awards 2021, which means it’s not long now until the The Game Awards 2021 game reveals. Geoff Keighley (journalist, creator and host of The Game Awards) has confirmed that there will be announcements ‘in the double digits’ at the upcoming show, so we’ve taken a look around the internet for rumors (as well as done some in-depth research of our own) to come up with this roster of The Game Awards 2021 game reveal predictions ahead of time.
Digimon Survive
We did a full page on this one, so we won’t bore you with the details here. It was supposed to come out before the end of the year, and that doesn’t look likely, but it was rated by the ESRB which means it’s probably coming out really soon. We expect this one to release sometime early next year, which means the best chance to get some eyes on it (outside of a surprise Nintendo Direct) would be at The Game Awards 2021.
Banjo-Kazooie
There have been some rumours posted on sites like Reddit that Double Fine are working with Rare on a new entry in the Banjo-Kazooie series for a release in 2022 for a while. Take this one with a grain of salt, as we’ve seen nothing concrete, but a lot of other things from the same leaker turned out to be true, so we’ll still give this one a bit of time in the spotlight.
They could either do a remake (Banjo-Redooie) or a new Banjo (Banjo-Threeie). While we’d be happy to play either, we do lean a little bit towards wanting a new one, really.
BioShock Isolation
A logo recently appeared on the internet for a game called Bioshock Isolation. We couldn’t find a reliable source for the image, but a lot of gamers seem to believe that the logo is real for some reason. We know that the game is in active development over at Cloud Chamber, so we figure it could show up at TGA 2021.
The leaks say that the Unreal Engine 5 powered game is set in a new dystopian city, which is exactly what we said we wanted over in this article. We’re cautiously excited, and look forward to hopefully getting a look at it at the show.
Ken Levine’s next game
While not working on the Isolation (if that is what it’s called) BioShock creator Ken Levine has also been working on something new at Ghost Story Games. It feels like it’s about time we see what he’s been up to since finishing up his work on Bioshock Infinite. We basically know nothing about this one, but we’re excited enough about it even existing for it to make our list of The Game Awards 2021 game reveal predictions.
Sonic Frontiers
This one may be wishful thinking, but we’ve wanted to see more of Sonic Frontiers since they revealed it with a fancy CG trailer at the end of May 2021. This one has had a name trademarked, and leaks compare it to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. We’d really just like to see how that works — and why not on one of the biggest gaming nights of the year?
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II has had a relationship with The Game Awards, ever since it was announced alongside the Xbox Series X at the event back in 2019. We’ve not had a progress update on Ninja Theory’s chilling new action-adventure game for a while, so it seems to us like it might show up next week.
The Sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
This is a long shot like Sonic Frontiers, but The Legend of Zelda series is currently in the middle of it’s 35th anniversary. Nintendo have celebrated it a bit, but still refuse to tell us when The Sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is coming out, or even what it’s real name is. There has been a bit of precedent for the Zelda series being showcased at The Game Awards in the past, so fingers crossed.
Indies, so many indies
Several indie demos have been posted on the Xbox Marketplace ahead of the show. We did a page about it earlier in the week. You can expect to see those games there. We’re still very excited about RaccooVenture.
