What is the objective of Darkest Dungeon 2?
Players in Darkest Dungeon 2 are on a mission to travel to The Mountain (a region in the game) to exterminate the source of evil that has wreaked havoc around the world. You’ll have one chance to fend off multiple enemies when traveling with your party through multiple regions to any boss’ lair in order to slay it. With different combat abilities and items at your disposal to utilize, you must effectively utilize them to beat the game. However, if all of your characters die, you’ll be back at the beginning of the game to start over again.
How to reach the mountain in Darkest Dungeon 2
In Darkest Dungeon 2, players have different chapters or confessions (acts/chapters) to complete, each with its own final boss. At the time of writing this guide, three out of five confessions are already released: Denial, Resentment, and Obsession. You have to select one at the Complete Your Confession Contract screen, after which you’ll be en route to defeating the boss in your Stagecoach.

You can also travel to different regions of your choice between The Valley and The Mountain by making the selection at The Inn (Route checkpoint). The Inn holds much significance in the game since you can perform carriage and skill upgrades along with the improvement of your intra-party relations.
You’ll have to be wary of supply stops since your decisions can turn the odds of any battle in your favor. Over here, you’ll find miserable survivors with whom you can perform a normal transaction of supplies or choose to kill them for having free goods. Your heroes would have their opinion about dealing with the situation, which would determine intra-party relations depending on who you side with.
