The addition of the Lung Boss in Darkest Dungeon 2 has piqued the interest of many players who want to take their turn to slay it. Even though the name has gone quite popular, it still might not be clear, for some players, who the Lung Boss actually is. Dive into our guide to find out all about the Lung Boss and learn how to beat it!

Darkest Dungeon 2 Lung Boss

The Seething Sigh, more commonly known as the Lung Boss, is the final boss and the main goal to beat of Act 2: Resentment in Darkest Dungeon 2. After two Oblivion Ingresses on The Mountain, you will come across the Lung Boss. While it looks like a pair of lungs with wings, the design of the Lung Boss shares a clever resemblance to that of a flying dragon that adds to the experience of the daunting battle.

Plus, the boss even has a metallic collar in the shape of an Iron Crown around its neck.

How to defeat the Lung Boss in Darkest Dungeon 2

The Lung Boss has three parts that have to be targeted during battle in Darkest Dungeon 2. The two lungs and the trachea (body). We’ll have to attack all three rather than shifting our focus to only one of them. Only targeting the lungs would allow the Seething Sigh to take your team with regular attacks from its body.

Similarly, neglecting the lungs would let the boss have enough inhalation tokens to unleash the Sundering Exhalation move, taking out a whopping amount of your HP. When in the fight, stay vigilant about clearing out the Inhalation Tokens by taking out 6% of each lung’s health to prevent a Sundering Exhalation move.

Heading into the fight, utilize the best out of your party comp by throwing in members who can deal decent damage to the lungs and ones who can clear out debuffs applied by the boss. For dealing damage to the front and back rows, you can choose between Highwayman, Occultist, and Hellion. Moreover, characters like Plague Doctor and Jester are proficient at clearing out debuffs on the team and applying useful ones to the enemy.
