Fortnite, the title from Epic Games, has been asking players to verify their birthday when signing in. As it turns out, this not just an issue with Fortnite, but other Epic Games titles such as Fall Guys, as mentioned by one Reddit user. It appears that the reason why Fortnite is asking for your birthday is to mitigate the chance of people violating the parental guidance. The Entertainment Software Ratings Board rates Fortnite “T” for teen, which means ages 13 and up, amongst other official ratings who consider it the same.

Fortnite developers, Epic Games have issued a new set of rules regarding parental consent, verifable age emails and cabined accounts which are designed to ensure that kids of all ages can enjoy these games appropriately.
