The reviews are finally in for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and things are really looking up for Nintendo. Tears of the Kingdom may just end up being the game of the year. Zelda is one of the more put-together titles of the year with both Jedi Survivor and Forspoken taking heavy hits in earlier months.

With the scores that Tears of the Kingdom received, it may just end up being the year of Zelda. This isn’t very surprising given how well Breath of the Wild did in the past. Nintendo is known for making good games that typically don’t have any major bugs. Here are The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom reviews.

Reviews for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Metacritic has Tears of the Kingdom sitting at a comfortable 97 with almost all of the sites giving the game scores in the 80s or 90s and only one dropping the game down to a 60. This is far better than previous titles this year and definitely shows that Nintendo has put in the work for Zelda.

Opencritic also has the game scoring very well with a 97 and 100% of critics recommending the game. That is far more impressive than most recent games. Most of the critics gave high scores with the most prominent being IGN and GameSpot, both of which gave the game a 10. If that doesn’t solidify that the game is worth purchasing, we don’t know what does.

So far the Breath of the Wild Sequel is holding up with many sites mentioning the great puzzle-solving gameplay and mixing in information about the game’s Link’s new abilities like Fuse and the open world design. Many have mentioned that Tears of the Kingdom beats its predecessor in almost every way. Not bad for the first only possibly only Nintendo Switch exclusive Zelda game. Here are some of the more notable scores that fans will appreciate:

Tears of the Kingdom has many updates to the Breath of the Wild formula. Many have pointed out that the monsters are better, the dungeons are more interesting, and the combat is more fluid. Others have brought up how the shrines operate and how to use the Recall ability.

Of course, a primary focus was on the main story of the game which had many mysteries. The strong narrative meshes well with the side quests. With such good scores, Tears of the Kingdom may go down as one of the greatest games of all time for the Zelda franchise.
