So what is the RTX 4070 hash rate? Whilst we can’t definitely say at this stage, until the graphics card is properly released and independent testing takes place, the latest rumors (backed up by our resident experts) suggest around 60 MH/s at 120W of power consumption (when mining ETC).

Things to understand about GPU hash rates & crypto mining

• Hashrate measures how many calculations a graphics card can perform every second (which can be measured in billions, trillions, quadrillions, and even quintillions per second). e.g. a hashrate of 1TH/s means one trillion calculations performed per second.
• GPU hash rate varies depending on the coin you’re mining (although some are similar).
• The power draw / TGP of of each graphics card varies between SKUs (e.g. between RTX 4070 and RTX 4080 graphics cards), but is the same for each brand/model within that SKU as it is for the Founders’ Edition.
• Miners rarely run GPUs at maximum power consumption. There is a sweet spot in the balance between the cost of power required to run the card (which varies depending on the cost of electricity where you are) vs the income you’re gaining from mining. Some users may only run their GPUs at about 30% power load because it is the most efficient.

The below hash rates are based on mining Ethereum Classic (ETC), based on the Etchash algorithm.

Power consumption doesn’t represent the maximum possible power consumption of the card / TGP, but the power consumption used to achieve this hash rate.
